Carswell Hill Wind Turbine 11kV

Working directly for our client and with the help of Scottish Power we restructured the grid connection agreement to allow for an 11kV connection at the turbine site. The initial connection agreement being for a significantly more expensive 33kV connection.

The project kicked off in April 2017 and was due for energisation at the end of September 2017.

To meet this timeline we worked closely with Scottish Power, organising the collection of main plant (RMU) and power cableĀ from the SPEN stores and installing it at site. We also supplied and installed the GRP enclosure, the battery charger, protection (NVD) panel as well as the fibre comms equipment and associated fibre cable.

Throughout the site works phase, including the civil works, turbine erection and the electrical infrastructure installation and commissioning Labron Technical provided project management and project engineering support. Liaising with Scottish Power, Enercon (Turbine manufacturer) and the civil works contractors as well as the additional site stakeholders.

We are very pleased to confirm that the site gained OFGEM accreditation one month early at the end of August 2017.
