Acting on behalf of our client Clean Earth and with the help of Scottish Power we restructured the grid connection agreement to allow for a 33kV connection closer to the turbine site. The initial connection agreement being for an 11kV connection some 12 miles away.
Due to the short timescales involved we then drove the design phase working closely with Clean Earth, IQA and Scottish Power. The project kicked off in December 2016 and was due for energisation at the end of March 2017. To meet this timeline Labron Technical produced and closely followed a Primavera project plan, initially focusing on procurement. This included the 33kV switchgear, 33kV and 11kV power cable, transformer, protection and enclosures. These were procured and installed by Labron Technical before being adopted by Scottish Power.
Throughout the site works phase, including the civil works, turbine erection and the electrical infrastructure installation and commissioning Labron Technical provided project management, project engineering and full site management for Clean Earth.
This turbine was connected via an ANM system, Labron Technical worked closely with SGS and Scottish Power from the outset to ensure the system was designed, connected and tested in a timely manner.
We are very pleased to confirm that the site gained OFGEM accreditation on time at the end of March 2017.
